Software Development

Programming and Database Solutions

Computer programming encompasses all aspects of hardware utilization ranging from firmware to specific application programming. Many software development tools currently provide a development platform for the creation of software products, a large subset of these software development tools being designed for Internet-related programming for websites or web-enabled applications. Most programming tools and systems are usually designed for programming professionals and require expert knowledge to be effective.

Most programming languages are class-based and object oriented. This enables the developer to create libraries and routines that are reusable. In theory, it also will lessen development time, although this is sometimes not the case. Some programming languages work across different operating platforms (such as Windows or Linux) while others are restricted to a single platform.

Most systems utilize some type of database to store data in a readily accessible format. Usually, these databases utilize their own specific language and provide interfaces to numerous object oriented languages. Examples of major database products include: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase and Pervasive.

Finding an Outstanding Programming Consultant (or other experts)

There are several key phases to a software development project. These are: the design, the coding, the debugging and the testing. Interestingly, the coding phase of many software projects is shorter than the other phases. On some occasions, the design phase has taken up to 50% of the total project time. Having a rated outstanding software consultant can greatly aid project design and implementation. This software consultant can detail all the steps involved and ensure that it is designed to meet the client’s needs. Conversely, a poorly designed software development project can be potentially detrimental to an entire company.
